This ranking value will determine which
archers compete against one another and ensures the even playing field
for all competitors. The actual range of distinction between different
ranking numbers is quite small and any archer, within the same ranking
value, is a possible contender to win.
Those archers ranked at a previous USBA
sanctioned event will not be reranked. Their ranking value will be
available at the registration table upon initial registration and noted
on their score cards.
The USBA reserves
the right to adjust ranking values when deemed appropriate.
Note: Archers will be responsible for
their own score card and a duplicate may not be issued once competition
begins. Lost cards will be replaced at the discretion of the range
officials.
COMPETITION COURSE:
The competition course will be composed of 40 3D animal targets set
in groups up to 4 targets each. When a target
has more than one set of scoring rings, the FRONT KILL will
be shot unless the station judge indicates to shoot a different set
of scoring rings. Each of the groups will be referred to by
a station number (station 1, station 2). Targets will be set at unmarked
distances.
Each station will have a separate resident
judge. Upon arriving at a station each archer will present their score
cards to the judge prior to shooting any arrow for score. The judge
will direct each archer to the appropriate stake and the archer will
toe that stake while shooting for score. The first archer will have
2 minutes to complete a shot. Each following shooter in the group will
have two minutes to shoot his or her arrow begining when the previous
archer has released their arrow. When all competitors have shot each
station target, the station judge and archers will proceed to the targets.
Once at the target the station judge will evaluate each archer's arrow
and mark each score card with the appropriate numeric value. Archers
are not to pull arrows until the score cards are marked and the judge
says it is ok. Removing arrows from the target before the judge has
indicated to do so could result in a zero score. Repeated offenses
could result in disqualification. An archer removing the groups arrows
before being instructed to do so could result in the group being scored
a zero. Repeated offenses could result in the group being disqualified.
The judges evaluation of the score will be final.
COMPETITION PROCESS:
Each target will have a total of 6 stakes (shooting
positions). The appropriate stake will be determined based on the
equipment used by an archer, not the ranking number.
Pro stake Red/
White/ Blue stake- The maximum distance to any target will
be no greater than 50 yards. An archer who registers as a Pro od
Semi-Pro in another 3D organization must register to compete at the
same or higher level at all USBA sanctioned events, Failure to do
so will result in disqualification. There is no restrictions on equipment
used.
